CAMBRIDGE, MASS, Jul 9 - The official volleyball team of the Manoharan group, known as the "Hot Blue Cotingas," won their Rhino League match today in two sets. Middle hitter and vice-captain Solomon said it was "a dominant performance from start to finish" for the Cotingas.

The game ball went to team captain and manager Annie for devising and executing what outside hitter Victoria called "a flawless game plan." Annie gave credit to her teammates. "We really came together as a flock," she said.

With the victory, the Cotingas move into nth place in their pool, where n is a real, positive-valued integer. They are now one step closer to a playoff berth.

Middle hitter and intern/ringer Ed has high hopes for the rest of the season--and a warning for future opponents. "What was once a fledgling team has finally left the nest," he remarked. "And we can soar even higher."

It's a sentiment that has caught on with setter and lab social czar Ming. "There's no reason we can't bring home the Rhino Cup to McKay," he said. "This team has a hunger for winning."

Asked whether Cotingas, as frugivores, could really eat an abstract concept like "winning," Ming said only "enough with the bird metaphors."
