We have several new members of our group! Danai has joined the artificial cells project as a postdoc. Cheng will be working with braided nanowires as a postdoc. LaNell is a graduate student joining Rees and Aaron on the virus project, and Ron is working on code to intepret holographic microscopy images.

After an engaging talk, full of jokes about physicists and the spherical approximations they like to make, Tom's committee quickly concluded their discussions, letting him know that the defense of his thesis, "Holographic Microscopy for Soft Matter and Biophysics," had been successful. After concluding her thesis defense with an exciting grand finale, "The Self-Assembly of Man," Anna's committee emerged from their discussions quickly. They greeted her with smiles and handshakes, letting her know that her defense of her thesis, "Out-of-Equilibrium Dynamics of Colloidal Particles at Interfaces" had been successful. First year students Annie Stephenson, Solomon Barkley, and Toly Rinberg have joined the lab. Annie will be working with Victoria on the structural color project.
